Melgund Township Arts and Recreation Facilities

The Dyment Recreation Hall serves the residents of Dyment and Borups Corners, the two communities of Melgund Township.

Recreation, Arts and Culture in the heart of Northwestern Ontario.

With two exhibition galleries, a local museum collection, three recreational buildings and an outdoor performance area situated on over four acres of parkland, the Melgund Township Recreation Centre has something for everyone.

The site will re-open in spring 2023 for self-guided tours.

We encourage open source programme partners to offer events which are accessible, free or low cost to attend, or apply a sliding scale model of pricing.

We hope embracing an open source model fosters feelings of co-ownership for community arts programs and recreational spaces by a wider spectrum of the arts, music and cultural communities. This openness of programs can bring in a broader variety of audiences and helps break down some of the barriers or obstacles to access that prevent participation.

The Local Services Board of Melgund is a volunteer-driven, not-for-profit organization that has the authority to deliver arts, culture and recreation services to Borups Corners and Dyment in Melgund Township. This authority is granted under Regulation 737 of the Ontario Northern Services Boards Act (NSBA).
